As they beat against Southend 4-3 shrewsbury edged a Sky Bet League One thriller.
Goals from Jason Cummings Omar Beckles, Ollie Norburn and Callum Lang watched the home side to success, including Stephen McLaughlin, Simon Cox and Stephen Humphrys replied.
Shrewsbury began shining with Ryan Giles forcing a save from goalkeeper Mark Oxley in the opening moment.
As Ethan Ebanks-Landell presented an inviting low cross from the right that was turned home from close range by fellow guardian Beckles, the hosts took the lead at the 19th minute.
Giles was subsequently denied by a place until their advantage doubled at the 27th minute as Cummings curled a shot to the bottom corner of the net from the edge of the region.
As Elvis Bwomono’s cross from the right was headed in by McLaughlin the arrears cut in just two moments.
Shrewsbury revived their two-goal advantage just past the hour, skipper Norburn but came Southend together with Humphrys on goal from 20 yards after a quick counter attack.
As Lang kept his cool to beat at Oxley 4-2 moved in front in the 83rd minute.
Shrewsbury maintained three points to inflict a seventh defeat, although cox arrowed a shot from the edge of this box to the top corner of the net as the game moved into stoppage time.
